Amanda Gookin

Cellist, Amanda Gookin, is a chamber musician, soloist, and teacher living in New York where she received her Bachelor of Music from the Mannes College of Music where upon graduation, she spent two years as a performing cellist in Barcelona, Spain.
She is the cellist and co-founder of PUBLIQuartet, a string quartet which presents standard and rare music from the classical repertoire, as well as contemporary compositions and open-form improvisations. Amanda is also actively involved in writing and performing music for live theatre productions and film. Amanda's music has been featured on stage for Mortal Folly Theatre's production of Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Brave New World Repertory's The American Clock, The Long Christmas Dinner, As You Like It, and the Bushwick Shakespeare Repertory's productions of Romeo and Juliet and As You Like It.
This year she composed the soundtrack for Dryspell Production's upcoming film, THRU|LINES, featuring 24 New Yorkers over 24 hours on 24 screens. Most recently her music can be heard in Style.com's promotional video honoring fashion designer, Valentino, and his creative process in designing costumes for the New York City Ballet.
